Clone components with styles and settings

Hi,

It seems there’s no way to clone a component along with its styles and settings.

It would be handy to add this feature so that we don’t have to recreate all styles/settings from scratch for each component clone/variation.

You should be able to do this:

  1. Add the component you want to “clone” to the page.
  2. Click on the “Detach blocks” icon in the component toolbar.
  3. Select the parent container of the detached component and click the “Create Component” icon to create a new component.

You can, of course, make any modifications while it’s detached and/or after it’s been set as a new component.

Hi,

Thank you but this is the first thing I tried, and when detaching blocks, you lose component styles and settings, so when creating the new component, you need to recreate everything.

you have my vote :+1:

I too have encountered this problem. When creating multiple components, I had to repeat various tasks over and over again. This feature would solve this and at least save me some time :stuck_out_tongue:
