Hi @jhyaps,

You can use the following to get the ACF custom archive image:

Just make sure to choose “Current Taxonomy Archive” as the Location.

Hello @grantambrose

its Version 1.2.9.9.3 and wordpress version 6.3

Hi StrangeTech, my image will show up if i insert image block instead, however, i want that image should be inserted in the section as a background image. so i think, that your location option is not showing for the background image

Correct. As @Araminta said in the other thread, we will need a Taxonomy Terms block for this - I am trying to find out the exact Source she is using so it is a generally reusable workaround until Cwicly adds the feature.

I’m sorry to hear you’re still experiencing trouble with this, @jhyaps.

After adding the Taxonomy Terms block and setting the source to “current,” it’s essential to ensure you include a dynamic preview.
This step is crucial, as without it, you won’t be able to add blocks, as the Dynamic preview ensures that the data from the specified page/post can be pulled in to the template.

In your video, I noticed that you set the source to custom, which explains why the frontend background image was empty, as it isn’t applying the current taxonomy image you have set up for ‘Hairstyles’.

Please see this short demonstration:

Once you have done so, kindly let me know if the issue perists.

@Araminta, one issue with this:

Hi, in your gif image you have set the fun → movie, what is that ? is fun is a posts and movie is categories ?.

Please check the below video
https://gofile.io/d/9yWsuM

In mine there is only posts. no category is listed. and again, what if I pull out the dynamic preview for hair styles category, will it show the image for the hair-type and hair-color category automatically if i set the category image in respective category page ?

Please see my previous post, there is an open planned feature request for this.
