When opening a modal, a class could be added to the body which again would be removed when the modal is closed.
This would provide quite a few new design possibilities to take advantage of, as well as a more granular control.
A simple interaction could do basically the same thing, but would miss out the native modal functionality, like close with keyboard (ESC), and would always require that additional step.
An option to enable this behaviour would be very welcome.
