Unable to paste global elements copied from pre-1.4.2 site to 1.4.2 site

Description:

Pasting global elements copied from pre-1.4.2 site to 1.4.2 site doesn’t work.

Step-by-step reproduction instructions:

  1. Open the Post Editor/Site Editor on a 1.4.1.8 site
  2. Go to Global > Elements > HTML
  3. Copy one or more global elements
  4. Open the Post Editor/Site Editor on a 1.4.2-beta5 site
  5. Go to Global > Elements
  6. Attempt to paste the copied element/s into Tags, Blocks or Custom
  7. Notice that there is no effect

Thanks for bringing this up.

Indeed, this is an issue that we have to address before the stable release.

We had to come to a compromise for pre-1.4.2 pasting to 1.4.2 installations as pre-1.4.2 installations global elements did not keep a specific reference of their element or tag.
You will have to apply the tag/block/custom rule manually after having pasted it in 1.4.2.
