Sharing stylesheet between frontend and backend (post editor)

We have this working on multiple sites perfectly. On one specific site it doesn’t work for the default post type:

Post editor does not display styles set on Post Content for default Post Type

Description: Setting the styles on any custom post type’s post content block makes those styles apply to the post editor as well. Unfortunately this doesn’t appear to be working for the default post type for some reason.
