To use it as a fully-fledged block inserter, the Quick Inserter could have a search functionality implemented.
The search field could open inside a modal instead of a popover for more flexibility and to not hide Navigator items.
A stay open option, like there is in the class modal could also make sense.
Maybe a keyboard shortcut to open the search and auto-focus on the top search result?
Basically this,
but instead of adding to the Quick Inserter adding to the Navigator.
A toggle to search all blocks or only the ones that have been added to the Quick Inserter if that makes even sense.
