Menus with submenu - how to fix role issue?

these are the errors by w3c:

when adding a role attribute to the menu (role, static, menu)

the errors are gone, but then you get an issue with Pagespeed:

Wasn’t the menubar / menuitem role approach reverted?
Could be a leftover if I’m not mistaken.

If that’s the case, it’s a good find.

Agree, ARIA roles shouldn’t be used in a standard nav/ul/li navigation menu, if I remember well.

I can confirm that this is an error, as menu item shouldn’t be appearing.
We’ll be sure to fix this as soon as possible.
