Fixed header sections overlap

I am trying to create a fixed header but once I change the section to fixed, the 1st section on every page covers the header.

Hi @webandwhat,

Have you added a z-index value to the fixed header so that it stacks over those other elements?

I do not want to do that because the site has a 90px bar that runs across the page. If I simply change the z-index, it hides that bar behind.

Can’t that bar receive a higher z-index?

Or I’m misunderstanding something here.

If the header has a fixed height, I would simply go with positioning the bar x pixels from the top.

If the header height is not fixed, you could duplicate it and set visibility: hidden; although this isn’t so clean.
