The changelog describes this as:

Cwicly Heartbeat → choose to keep your global classes, global stylesheets, global styles, local fonts and Cwicly Themer up with the latest data available (perfect for teamwork).

Could somebody please elaborate on this for me? Is this an auto-update feature for the plugin? Or something internal for automatically regenerating html and css blocks?

Neither

It’s when you have more than one window open. If you add a global class inside of window A, after a few seconds it’ll magically make that class available in window B as well.

This would also apply if you’re working with a team member and are editing different pages at the same time.
