The Cwicly 1.3 Beta 2 version lacks an advanced feature that allows for dynamic paragraph blocks, akin to the image block functionality found in components.
Hi @g97iulio, what specific feature is missing?
Unlike the image property, the text property in components does not offer a dynamic option. The image property provides two options: ‘simple’, for static content, and ‘advanced’, for dynamic content. It would be beneficial for the text property to have these same options.
Got it, I see what you mean.
Using dynamic values like {post_date=published=4} doesn’t currently work there either.
@Louis, from the Cwicly side, what do you think about being able to use the dynamic inserter and/or dynamic values in the component fields as above?
Hello @StrangeTech and @g97iulio,
Dynamic content and tags are supported in Components, and your example: {post_date=published=4} works perfectly on my end. Was this applied on a post/supporting entity?
With the Rich Text property, you have access to the Dynamic Inserter - Documentation also, which gives you access to all necessary dynamic information.
Having said that, an option to allow dynamic selection like in the Paragraph and Heading blocks is planned.
I’ll await your replies and confirmation that dynamic tags work on your end before moving this to a feature request.
Cheers,
Hi @Louis, of course you are right. The Rich Text property works perfectly with both dynamic inserter and dynamic tags.
I was testing with the Text property which doesn’t work, it was a long day yesterday!!
Cheers
@g97iulio, so to summarise, the Text property is the equivalent to the Simple image property and the Rich Text property is equivalent to the Advanced image property.
Yes of course dynamics tag work, but “advanced property” as image is fundamental to have full control .
So rich text property let us add dynamic option in component ?
Upon further investigation, I think I am understanding what you are referring to but want to check - the difference I can see between the editing of a standard text based block and a component text based block is the lack of the Dynamic Values button.
Standard block editing bar:
Component block editing bar:
@g97iulio, please confirm if this is the feature you want added.
Using the dynamic inserter or tags, yes
And @Louis has mentioned that a further enhancement (I presume with the Dynamic Values button) is planned to be added:
Exactly that’s what I meant
Hi,
This was introduced in the initial Components release.
Best regards,
