Back to work

Do you believe that I keep checking this forum almost every day just to see if I can see the reply from Louis? Just like waiting for miracles to appear.

@jornes I stopped checking over a month ago.

Over 2 months ago I had shot YouTube content to promote Cwicly but when I completed 75% of the editing, I paused. I needed reassurances that development would continue. I could sense there was another downfall festering. I wrote a long detailed message in the forum for those assurances but nothing came of it.

Thatā€™s when I decided not to invest anymore of my effort into Cwicly. Not since their first shutdown have I considered it a volatile option for development. It has cost me considerable time and effort. There was a brief moment of hope that Cwicly might revive itself.

Personally I hope very much that Louis is not in some sort of bother. Such a talented man, and I can not begin to assume what is going on in his life.

@jornes do what is best for yourself and your business.

I started creating my website with it some time ago, but I stopped it due to such development. But the builder is truly amazing. Thatā€™s why I keep testing it and hope to see it continue, but unfortunately it is not.

Sad to see such a good builder turned dead just like Zion Builder did.

True.

Sad.
Hope heā€™s well. If Bali, heā€™s finally making good money with rich startups, thatā€™s my selfless wish.
If still interested in the project, my personal needs is the themer by itself as a templating engine handling blocks and Gutenberg editor insertions since Automattic seems to not get it and force people on static sites structures.
Take care everyone.

Hi all !

Itā€™s been quite a while since Louis last appeared, and Iā€™m still using Cwicly for my website projects, but I feel quite worried at the moment. Could any administrator or anyone help answer the following questions?

1 - Louis hasnā€™t appeared for a long time, and Iā€™m concerned about his safety. Could it be that heā€™s in danger?. Anyone who has contact with him, Please share here.
2 - In case Louis no longer continues developing Cwicly, would those of us currently using it, including myself, be able to find a platform to replace Cwicly? And would Cwicly still be usable even without Louis?

Thank you !

I too, keep using it on my website, and I too keep hoping Louis shows up or that someone else has the code, so that it wonā€™t be killed by wordpress updating. Has anyone looked into decompiling it?

Oh, and I hope Louis is OK! It seems odd that weā€™ve heard not a peep from himā€¦

You can do what you want - but it looks like business suicide to me if you keep using Cwicly. And youā€™re dragging your customers into the abyss with you.

I agree ā€“ if I were an agency, Iā€™d be committing business crimes to continue using cwicly on client pages. Iā€™m not. Iā€™m kinda lost for good ideas for an easy way to edit high quality pages in Wordpress, with reasonably full control, and still allowing for the easy writing of long form articles. I guess Iā€™m hoping it gets open sourced.

Every now and then I come back to this post hoping to find greetings from Louis.
By now Iā€™ve given up on the builder for quite some time butā€¦ at the same time, I hope heā€™s doing well and that, sooner or later, heā€™ll at least come back to say hello to us.

At least I hope Louis is well and still alive (sounds strange but who knows?!)

Whatā€™s so depressing about the situation again, is that every user of cwicly knows about the huge potential of this software. Louis achieved to make working with Gutenberg a joy. It felt like there were only a few steps missing to secure the development of Cwicly by making it open source and hand it over to the community.

Sad to know there is a Private Repository on GitHub just waiting for new contributors who are a switch away.

I really hope Cwicly wonā€™t die that silentā€¦

wish its that easy, we just need him to upload the source code to github or something, so we can all contribute and maintain
