Font selector doesn’t show the selected font because of some wrong CSS color:

It’s there, just the color matches the dark mode background. Should be a lighter color, as you noticed.
On a related note, while I don’t generally use light mode anyway, there’s something about the contrast between the text and the background in light mode that makes it a little jarring. I see some changes were made, but the color scheme doesn’t look good to my eyes. Others might have more input.
