Local fonts size huge when loaded

I used the fonts manager to localize the variable google font “Roboto flex”, but when loaded it is huge (314kB), am I doing something wrong, or is that just an issue with that specific font?

Whether local or hosted on Google, Roboto Flex is a big font → a lot of variables: Roboto Flex - Google Fonts

At the same time, it’s remarkably small when looking at all the possibilities given with this one font.

If you consider this huge, you might want to look at something with fewer capabilities.

Thanks for clarifying that, so it is just ensured there is no mistake on my side or any issue. As my site is not that heavy, it is not a problem I think
