So I guess I am not clear what makes this method the more efficient approach for setting a background image.

I can’t follow how this is related to how Cwicly works.
It’s rather a general technical thing which always depends on the use case too.

Yes, you are correct, I am off-topic with my response … I am applying the advice on this page to my scenario where I am trying to set up a responsive background image. I will open another thread.
