Hi, I wanted to ask cwicly is there any community that shares designs or sells their designs?
Hi @huynhchien,
We have plans and we are waiting for the new templating related changes to ensure we are in sync with the technical direction that Cwicly is moving in.
Thank you for this information
Certainly something to consider once the technical requirements are in place in Cwicly to make it as accessible as possible to the user.
I’ve been working on something for over a year.
Basically everything I waited for was a fully fledged theme im-/export functionality, which also was on the very top of the roadmap at that time.
Unfortunately, certain things happened and I threw it all away. Maybe I’ll find some motivation again, we’ll see. That depends on a few factors.
Cwicly has many plans in this regard, which in my opinion should all be prioritized, as this is exactly what attracts new users. Vast majority don’t want or is not able to start from scratch.
Even if Cwicly will provide some designs. It’s not just about provide a starting point to users. It’s about variety. And that can only be done on a large scale. Cwicly can’t do that alone. They need creative people who contribute.
I would like us to be informed about the future in this regard. Now is a good time to prepare things to have them ready when things get rolling.
I don’t know why this kind of information is kept under wraps for so long.
There are several people here I have spoken to who are willing to invest in Cwicly, but unfortunately there are too many uncertainties.
It’s a bit unfortunate in my opinion, especially because Cwicly is supposed to be community driven.
Yes, we are in a transition phase. But this could be used incredibly productively. All we can do is wait. And that’s annoying.
Can you predict how long it will take to complete? 1 year, 2 years or 3 years?
Presumably, there will be a solid selection by the end of next year.
Cwicly soon will provide some starter templates, built with Tailwind.
In the meantime, feel free to share your ideas and requirements in case you have something specific in mind.
Some excellent points were raised here.
There is a major issue currently. The lack of a transparent business strategy for the future of the Cwicly project. Until this is mapped out, structured and a group of competent individuals appointed, there is no solid footing presenting us a way forward. After the stoppage one needs assurances of commitment. I was one willing to contribute to the Cwicly project but I would hope to be assured my efforts wouldn’t be wasted.
That is why I remain hesitant to use Cwicly for future builds. I am forced to consider the longevity of the tool and weigh the odds to its future.

Hi! do you create new sites for clients or for yourself using Cwicly or only maintain existing ones?
Yeah, it would be great to hear about the new business strategy Louis mentioned
Hi @creer
I use cwicly both for client sites as well as my own sites. I build all these sites from scratch. There’s only one site I built with Bricks during cwicly’s downtime.
I totally understand @hopscotch’s perspective and I, too, was very hesitant at the beginning to reintroduce cwicly into my stack. But Louis’ openness and vibrant activity in the last weeks/months ultimately gave me enough reassurance to stick with cwicly for now.
That being said, I’m still missing a more comprehensive understanding of cwicly’s overall strategic goals and the mid- and long-term plans to stay financially healthy. So I’m really hoping @Louis will be able to shine a brighter light and paint a clearer picture on this topic in the near future.
I totally understand that this is a sensitive issue and that it has to be thought through before making it public. But it seems to me that there’s a significant majority here in the community asking for clarity rather sooner than later.
Yes, I am trying to litigate a conundrum we have all encountered here. But we must all be realistic with the present situation. My hope is that @Louis would engage with those like myself and others that are more than willing to contribute to the Cwicly project. It is also in our best interests that it succeeds.
@Marius and @StrangeTech have been a wealth of knowledge and are the most advanced with the tool.
I also work with Bricks, but I do prefer Cwicly’s approach/workflow.
Yes, we are continuing to create new sites for clients and our business using Cwicly.
Building my first business site with Cwicly. I hope there will not have any obstacles during the build.
Yep, I also keep building sites for clients and myself.
