Color Management improvement - Custom Base Color

I’m working on a new project where I decided to use the Cwicly Color Palette feature for the first time.

While it is great that Cwicly offers to generate a Color Palette automatically it lacks one last little option to make the Color Palette completely customizable:
The option to manually select the position of the Base Color.

In the design process I created this Color Palette:

The Color 500 is a defined Brand Color. I want it to be at 500. When I want to use the Cwicly Palette I get this result (I used the Color 500 as base):

As you can see the Color 500 now is a 300. If I’m not mistaken there is no way of placing this color at 500 resulting in more light shades and less dark shades.

I would really like to have the option to define the Base Color, used for the Palette, myself.

I used several tools and guides to create the initial Color Palette:

The Tailwind Color Generator for example places my Color 500 at 500 automatically. So it is no unreasonable choice.

Hi @Jonas,

You may or may not have already seen this, but just in case:

Hi @StrangeTech,

thanks for this reference. I’m aware of this option. My Feature Request basically just targets the possibility to manually select the position of the base color.
This would give us control about the number of light and dark shades available.

When the updated global colours UI first was introduced I asked the same question. :+1:

For me it is now the first time I actually was about to use this feature and this was the first question that I had as well.

This generator for example provides the option to chose where the Base Color should be: https://www.tints.dev/brand/99D31F

Lets see what @Louis thinks about this.
