I’m currently testing the new beta, and one thing that immediately caught my eye when opening it is the size of the panels and icons. Somehow, maybe it’s just me, but everything feels very narrow and cramped. Especially the icons in “Relative Styles” are very small, and it almost feels like being a sniper in the army when you have to click them, at least in my opinion. Is there a possibility to make everything a bit larger?
The icon size actually didn’t change as far as I can see and also matches with all the other sizes for the related icon category.
For me, they are just fine, I rather struggle a bit with the class names in the block inspector for example.
It’s always a search for the best compromise, and you can’t please everyone.
The bottom line is that you have no choice but to use a little custom CSS.
Maybe one day we’ll see a UI editor in which we can directly control and customize individual elements.
Don’t forget the possibility to use the browser zoom in combination with canvas scaling to adjust the interface a little.
Thanks for the input.
As @Marius put it, this is rather a difficult one to get right. The icons and clickable areas are about the same as in the previous versions, but adding a pixel to them might be the perfect spot.
I’ll add this in the next update.
Thanks for bringing this up, will add a pixel or two to the classes list
Thanks for your responses. I do agree that it’s probably hard to get right and to fit all needs. What I saw from other software (not specially in the Wordpress eco-system) is using CSS variables and creating 2-3 different styles. Something like „tight, loose, dense“ or however you want to call them. Maybe that’s kind of an option?
I also agree that it has always been that small, but I thought more that it’s related to the limited space the previous layout brought, with the accordion/panels layout you would probably have more options in that regards?!
Thanks for adding a few pixels Louis, that will definitely help
Variables would be great.
Beside some (2-3) predefined UI themes that could come with Cwicly by default, this would also allow to share custom ones and make them available to the community.
